Hall-Harper decries dark money in Tulsa City Council District 1 race
While the District 1 candidates haven’t spoken with each other about the ads, both have denounced the role dark money has played. Early voting begins Wednesday. Tulsa City Councilwoman Vanessa Hall-Harper has accused unknown parties of funding political attacks in her upcoming runoff election for District 1. She held a press conference outside her campaign headquarters to criticize A Strong Oklahoma, an organization she alleges is behind TV advertisements, mailers, and a website attacking her and supporting her opponent Corinice Wilson. Hall-harper urged voters to know who is behind the spending and why it was being used to influence the election. Wilson denied any connection to the attack ads and said she does not support dark money or negative outside attacks in the race. Early voting is set for October 28-31 at four locations across Tulsa County. Election Day is Nov. 3.
