Arabian Horse Championship Returns to Tulsa Expo Square
Thousands of Arabian horses and their people have taken over Tulsa Expo Square — and it's free to walk through. Tulsa Expo Square is hosting the U.S. National Arabian & Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show, which returned to Tulsa for its 60th year. The public event, which is free to attend, brings competitors, trainers and families from across the country. The Tulsa Regional Chamber estimated that the previous year's event had a $32.5 million economic impact, while the Arabian Horse Association planned to award $1.4 million in prize money by the season's end. The show brings about $25 million in value to Tulsa, while Elite Equestrian Magazine reported an estimated $28 million in annual impact across Tulsa and the surrounding county. Among this year's winners, Sophie Yih and Brooke Pitassi-Barrett won in the Half-Arian Country English Pleasure category.
