TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police arrested Angela Harrison for stealing an SUV that had been missing since December.

Police say at around 4 p.m. on Monday they received an alert from a Flock Safety Camera on a stolen Jeep Liberty at Admiral and Darlington which led to officers stopping the vehicle near Admiral and Sheridan.

Police say Harrison claimed she was at a gas station an hour before and ran into a former customer of hers when she worked at Waffle House. She said the customer gave her $10 and the vehicle because her birthday was coming up.

The vehicle was reported stolen in December and detectives had already obtained a photo of Harrison in the vehicle from January.

Harrison identified herself as the woman in the photo but could not explain how she could be in possession of it when it was gifted to her an hour before.

Police say the owner of the SUV passed away last year but the vehicle was returned to his family.

Harrison was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle.
