a furlough
Tulsa is a town in Oklahoma, in the Midwest. It is the second-largest city in the U.S. Midwest state of Oklahoma. In Korea, the pronunciation of a city's name is often called "tulips." but in the United States, the pronunciation of a city's name is closer to fura. The population of Tulsa City is 413,505 (2010), and the total population of Tulsa County (County) is 1,251,172 (2017). The site is part of the Tulsa County, northeast of Oklahoma, the U.S. Central and Southern States, and part of the area spans several other counties. It is located on the coast of the Arkansas River.

Originally a Native American village, it began to develop suddenly and become a global oil city when a large oil field was discovered in the early 20th century. Oklahoma City's second-largest city, followed by Oklahoma City, is home to a growing number of industries, including aerospace, telecommunications and finance, in addition to the oil industry. Higher education is also developed, with the top private universities, the University of Tulsa and the University of Oral Roberts, and public universities, the University of Oklahoma State and the University of Oklahoma's Tulsa branch. The city is known to have a growing population due to industrial development and urban development.
an urban pharmacist
Originally, Tulsa was the site of settlements in the 19th century when European immigrants forced Native Americans from eastern North America to other parts of the world, where the Native American Lochafoca tribe and the Creek tribe were resettled in 1836. Even now, there are geographical names in the Tulsa region that are derived from the Creek tribe's language and the Rochapo tribe's language. The city name, Tulsa, is also used in the language of the Creek tribe, derived from the word "talash," which means "old town." Other tribes, including some of the Cherokee Nation, are also in the vicinity of Tulsa to the present. In the 20th century, the oil industry became the center of the oil industry, and after struggling to cope with the downturn of the oil industry, various industries in technology, wireless communications and aviation have become the economic foundation.
oil city
In 1898, Tulsa was a village where only autonomous residents could elect town heads. But when the oil wells were developed in 1901, they developed rapidly. Since then, oil development has begun to industrialize around furs, and by 1930, it has developed into a city with a population of 140,000. As the center of the oil industry passed the early 20th century, Tulsa was also known as the "World Oil Capital," the heart of the U.S. oil industry.
racial riots
The rapid development of the oil industry in Tulsa has caused racial conflict. Native Americans who settled in Tulsa were separated from white and lived in Native American territories, so there was no conflict between white people and Native Americans. However, as oil development became known throughout the United States, conflict arose not only among whites but also between blacks and traditional whites who came looking for jobs. As the number of African-Americans seeking jobs increased, the number of African-Americans who thought they were deprived of their jobs was replaced by those who thought they were unemployed. In 1921, white and black race riots erupted as white people attacked black neighborhoods. Official records show that 23 blacks and 13 whites were killed, but actual testimony showed more than 300 deaths, mostly black. More than 800 people, mostly black, were hospitalized with injuries, and about 1,256 buildings burned or collapsed across 35 districts in the city, leaving about 10,000 black people homeless. At the time, compensation was not fully paid. It was recorded as the largest event of racial riots in the United States.
Route 66.
National Highway 66, the backbone of Tulsa's economic development, was completed in 1925. Route 66 between Chicago and Los Angeles has been completed, centered on Tulsa. This route 66 has greatly affected the development of Tulsa, and has been a good result for the economy of Oklahoma. Cyrus Avery, who is a business associate with the road, is still called the "father of Road 66." This road affects not only the economy but also a wide variety of cultures to form the music that is commonly called Western Swing. Still, the Western swing around the road remains its influence, and many musicians also form around the road.
urban development
From the mid-20th century, industrial development led to the creation of beautiful public life and areas through investments in parks, museums, garden of roses and social overhead capital. In the 1950s, it became known as one of the most beautiful cities in the United States. The dependence on the oil industry was driven by the U.S. government's oil policy, and Mr. Woolsa's government's policy of managing oil had been stagnant. Gradually, the government took policies to expand various industries, not just oil. At the beginning of the 21st century, various industries, such as aerospace, information technology, finance, and meat processing, have developed steadily.
culture
Tulsa's culture has a cultural background in the Midwest and the South, and Native American culture remains. The city has developed a wide range of museums and cultural centers, arts performances, race festivals and public cultural facilities.
cultural events
A variety of museums are provided to inform the history of the natives, as well as culture and art. A variety of facilities and oil-related events left in the oil industry's generators have been preserved well. Unlike in the West or East of the United States, it has a cultural background that is quite peaceful. It is not radical, but rather a moderately conservative or moderate culture. Various events and festivals are organized, and festivals for Greeks, Mexicans and Asians are organized. However, controversial events such as same-sex relationships and racial issues are not culturally acceptable.
social trends
The area is part of the "Bible belt." which is heavily influenced by Protestantism, and emphasizes the Protestant tradition and the spirit of the American pioneer. The Bible belt area is commonly known as the Christian fundamentalism, but Tulsa is influenced by the conservative Protestant Church, but has very little activity of Christian fundamentalism. The Christian culture of Tulsa is mainly dominated by conservative neo-evangelism and moderate Protestant Church, and has a cultural background of moderate conservatives in general life. Oklahoma, which has a reputation for being Puritanical, has a strict alcohol sales system and a gambling ban. Even in Tulsa, there are strict laws governing smoking, alcohol purchases and intake, so you can't drink beer in public parks and you can't sell any kind of welfare.
racial harmony
It is still a region of high interest for racial equality, with efforts to promote racial harmony after the 1921 ethnic riots. It maintains policies that maintain white-to-other racial ratios, has a high interest in racial equality, and racism is a place where it is tightly regulated compared to other states, not just the surrounding South.
food
famous barbecue
Oklahoma is a meat-processing powerhouse at the center of furloughs. With the low price of quality meat, a variety of BBQ dishes are developed and introduced, and there are a variety of barbecue restaurants. Smoked barbecue is very famous, and there is a food-serving factory all over the U.S., and the brand of various Bebecquew restaurants in the central U.S. originated from Tulsa. Unique smoked barbecue dishes are still popular and can be enjoyed at many restaurants. Homemade burgers are also bigger and better quality than those in western and eastern cities. There are as many handmade burgers as there are famous franchise burgers.
chili and foreign food
A familiar part of Mexican culture has long been the site of a variety of chili and related dishes. Famous chili restaurants in the central region have also developed chili and American-style Mexican cuisine to the extent that Tulsa's restaurants are home. Aside from Mexican cuisine, there are restaurants famous for Greek and Syrian meat dishes.
Southern American cuisine
Tulsa, an area where Southern cuisine is developed, remains a well-preserved area of southern cuisine, including Texas, with a strong influence on Southern cuisine using a variety of meat and agricultural crops, and a developed Southern American restaurant. It also has easy access to Texas's famous fried onion and is common for Southern home cooking.
Transportation and Area
driving environment
In Oklahoma, most Korean nationals who can exchange their driver's licenses with the Korean government are issued social security numbers for immigration, study and long-term business. They can exchange their driver's licenses to U.S. drivers' licenses without a test. Since it is a planned city, the road is straight and wide, so the driving environment is good. However, road management in the U.S. is far from the level of management of the Republic of Korea, and Tulsa's handling of road maintenance is slow and less manageable compared to the level of road management in the Republic of Korea. If you leave the city a little, you should be careful where the roads are split or cut. Due to the low population density compared to the size of cities, traffic congestion is very low except in urban areas, so first-time visitors can drive without much difficulty. However, when you get out of the downtown and downtown areas, you'll find many unsignalled intersections and no traffic lights, which are required by Oklahoma's State Transit Act to stop at the crossings, and vehicles that arrive first can pass over the crossroad first.
public transport
Public transportation is well-equipped for mid-size U.S. cities, but it is good compared to other mid-size U.S. cities. Compared to Korean mid-sized cities, public transportation is inconvenient. Bus buses and routes have been built around the center of the city. In the residential area, public transportation is more than 4 to 5 bus stops away from the central city of Korea. Bus stops are also not frequently used in daily life. It is much more convenient to use a car outside the city center.
air facilities
The most convenient way for a flight from South Korea to Tulsa is from Incheon to Chicago International Airport to a flight to Tulsa. From Tulsa International Airport you can reach Chicago O'Hare, Dallas Fort Worth, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, McCarron International Airport, Miami International, Hatfield Jackson Atlanta Airport, Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County, Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport, Salt Lake City, Denver International Airport, George Bush Intercontinental and Dulles.
the city's security
While Tulsa is a safe city with low crime rates in the United States, parts of northern Tulsa have higher crime rates than other furloughs. Some areas north of Tulsa are better off when traveling. In the southern part of Tulsa, people can go for walks after dinner and hold a night market. The city government has organized bike lanes, making it easier to use bicycles in life. There is a bus route, but buses are not available in residential areas outside the city center.
climate and living
The temperature of summer rises to 40 degrees Celsius in the summer and winter at the lowest minus 3 degrees in the winter. The summer is long and hot, so it is hot from May to September. The number of degrees is over 40 in June and August. Annual rainfall is around 1,000 millimeters, with fewer rainfall between April-June and September-October. There are few rainfall, but artificial reservoirs that prepare for droughts are well installed. The area experienced severe drought in the past, and water quality is provided to the capital as a thorough area for drought management.
weather
The average annual humidity is 60-70 percent, which is similar to that of a month. In summer, hot weather and hot air are used in the winter, making people feel dry in real life. The air conditioner is long, and in summer, it gets dry in homes and offices, so it is often used as a low-temperature humidifier. The temperature in winter is turned on by heating, reducing the indoor humidity. In winter, the temperature usually doesn't go below 3 degrees below zero, and it's suitable for living with 60 to 70 percent humidity. In winter, sometimes the effects of north wind are greater, and the cold air in the North of the United States, adjacent to Canada, drops to below -10 degrees Celsius.
The daily temperature is rather large. There is a change in the weather of the day by the wind to a city formed on a mountain-free plain around. When the sun sets over the summer in the plains area, the temperature drops suddenly when the sun sets, and the difference between morning and day and night temperatures changes rapidly.
outdoor activities
In summer, white people who have a high risk of skin cancer due to the sun are generally wearing thin, bright long sleeves unless they are exercising. In the broadcast, if you are outdoors in the summer, you should wear a hat and colored glasses, and wear a bright long sleeve jacket and a top. In the summer, you can see the scenery in public places, such as parks, where children and the elderly all wear colored glasses. In mid-summer, if you are exposed to the sun for a long time, you can get sunburn. So you'd better wear a hat and light long-sleeved clothes.
In winter, the temperature rarely goes below -3 degrees Celsius. Unlike in Korea, the average humidity is 60 to 70 percent, making it convenient to live in Korea. The humidity is reasonable and the temperature is not very low, so it is not difficult to exercise or play outdoors in the winter. During outdoor activities, you can enjoy winter activities without wearing a heavy coat. In the event of a snowfall, there is usually no hassle cleaning up snow by day, but in the case of a little bit of snow, the drivers lack experience driving in the snow and often experience slide accidents.
weather and grass
Golf courses are famous for their excellent grass quality in a climate where grass grows very well. Every year, a professional golf tournament in the U.S. is held at one of the golf courses in Tulsa. Golf courses are also cheaper than those in neighboring states, so they consider golf a sport. Because grass grows well, lawn mowers have a rule that limits grass length on the lawn of a home. If you break this, you will be fined. Due to the high demand for lawn mowers, grass and grass-based machines are also being held under the sponsorship of grass makers. It is common to see people mowing the lawn in their homes every Saturday.
tornado indirect effects
Oklahoma, which is in the middle of the state, is a relatively high state with tornadoes. Tulsa is also part of the tornado influence. It does not cause direct damage, but it also causes indirect damage to tornadoes, lightning, wind, showers, and hail. Recently, the path of the tornado has become unstable, and in 2017, a small tornado struck around the city, causing some damage to two restaurants and injuring five or six people.
