ISU men's tennis stays hot with 6-1 Summit League win over Oral Roberts

TULSA, Okla. — Illinois State men’s tennis moved on to 3-0 in Summit League matches after a 6-1 win over Oral Roberts on Wednesday at Bernis Duke Tennis Center. Illinois State men's tennis continued their winning streak with a 6-1 win over Oral Roberts, moving them to 3-0 in Summit League matches. Nam Pham, the reigning League Peak Performer of the Week, dominated his matches, alongside Arvid Hjalte, who swept his Golden Eagle opponents in doubles 6-0 at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. Emiliano Gonzalez and Tin Ostro also fell in their doubles match 7-5, but the sophomore pair of Caden Scarlett and Tomas Valencia secured the win for the Redbirds in doubles matches. Other notable wins included victories in singles matches from Amad Dibildox, who lost with scores of 6-2 and 6-3 in singles.

TULSA, Okla. — Illinois State men’s tennis moved on to 3-0 in Summit League matches after a 6-1 win over Oral Roberts on Wednesday at Bernis Duke Tennis Center.

Nam Pham, the reigning League Peak Performer of the Week, showed continued domination in his matches.

Pham, alongside Arvid Hjalte, swept his Golden Eagle opponents in doubles 6-0 at No. 2.

Emiliano Gonzalez and Tin Ostro fell in their doubles match 7-5, to even the score at one apiece at No. 1.

The sophomore pair of Caden Scarlett and Tomas Valencia got the victory at No. 3 to seal the point for the Redbirds in doubles matches.

Pham’s hot stretch continued in singles with scores of 6-1 and 6-4 at No. 1 to add another point on the day.

Ostro, at No. 6, stayed persistent throughout the singles match. The sophomore took the first set 6-2 and lost the second 6-3. In the tiebreaker, he got the win with a final score of 10-7.

Hjalte, Valencia and Gonzalez each contributed with wins in singles matches in the Redbirds victory.

Adrian Dibildox, playing at No. 3, lost with scores of 6-2 and 6-3 in singles to give ORU their only point in the match.
