AMERICANS looking for a change of scenery have the chance to be paid for the privilege under a new project.

The Tulsa Remote Program is taking applications from people who want to move to a bustling city in Oklahoma and be paid for it.

"Tulsa Remote is building a fostering a thriving remote work community in Tulsa," the project's website states.

The idea is that newcomers to Tulsa are given $10,000 to help with relocation costs and are offered support and resources to join and help build an active and supportive community.

"Our mission is to attract and retain remote workers whose skills and passions make Tulsa a more diverse and vibrant place while contributing to the foundation of a more inclusive and resilient economy," Tulsa Remote states.

Applicants who have made it through the four-step program have expressed their gratitude for the project that took them to "the world's largest small town," as the city is described on Visit Tulsa.

"I can honestly say that moving to Tulsa is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made," new Tulsa resident and business owner Montana Cain said.

"I’ve grown my personal and professional networks, and I genuinely feel like I have been able to find my people."

"Tulsa Remote has truly impacted my life," CEO Shawn Gaetano added.

"It's allowed me to relocate to a new city that feels like home and checks all the boxes of things that are important to me.

"The program has helped me get involved with local initiatives and communities that I am passionate about, and discover Tulsa in its entirety.

"I certainly plan on putting roots down in Tulsa."

"Tulsa Remote opens doors not just to a city, but to a family that uplifts and empowers you," a third new resident said.

After applications have been submitted, those who are successful will be invited to a 30-minute virtual interview.

Within two weeks of the interview, an update will be issued on the status of the application and those who are successful will undergo a background check.

The fourth and final stage of the application process is moving to Tulsa and receiving your grant.

Newcomers have 12 months to relocate to Tulsa and the program will be in touch to verify you’ve signed a qualifying lease or purchased a qualifying home, and "ensure you’ve attended a new member orientation."
