Shields was located at the airport with a boarding pass to San Juan, Puerto Rico. He will be brought back to Tulsa to face charges in the near future.

PENSACOLA, Fl. (WALA) - An Oklahoma man accused of raping a woman in Tulsa, was arrested in Pensacola Tuesday trying to flee the country.

According to Tulsa Police, back on January 15, a pregnant woman reported that Samuel Shields raped and sexually assaulted her.

Police also say the victim is roommates with Shields.

Investigators say Shields refused to cooperate with the investigation or meet with detectives, and he was charged with 1st-degree rape on March 15.

Officers received information that Shields quit his job and was planning to leave the country.

Shields was located at the Pensacola International Airport Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, Shields had a boarding pass to San Juan, Puerto Rico. TSA questioned him and he was taken into custody and booked into the Escambia County Jail.

Shields will be brought back to Tulsa to face charges in the near future.
