TULSA, Okla. — An officer driving near 11th and Peoria crashed into a pickup truck on Wednesday night, police say.

The pickup truck, driving northbound on Trenton, failed to stop at a stop sign. The officer in the SUV slammed on his brakes but police say the impact was inevitable.

Witnesses told police the pickup truck was driving erratically before the crash and was flashing their headlights on and off.

Both the officer and the driver of the pickup went to the hospital for non-life-threatening head injuries.

Police say investigations found that the driver of the pickup truck appeared to be intoxicated.
