Man arrested after Tulsa Police chase on hotwired electric bike

Tulsa Police has arrested Daniel Louis for leading an officer on a police chase on a hotwired electric bike. The suspect, identified as Louis, had methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and an extended magazine with two rounds. The police found Louis on foot at the Brighton Apartments and arrested him. The electric bike was clearly tampered with and appeared to have been hotwired. Louis was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, obstructing justice, possession of drug paraphenalia, joyriding, and a bicycle violation.

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police arrested a man for leading an officer on a police chase on a hotwired electric bike on Tuesday.

Tulsa Police said an officer tried to stop someone on an electric bike around 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

The suspect didn't stop and led the officer on a chase through neighborhoods near 51st Street and Darlington and through multiple apartment complexes, police said.

Police said the officer found the suspect on foot at the Brighton Apartments and arrested him.

Police said the suspect, identified as Daniel Louis, had methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and an extended magazine with two rounds.

Police didn't find a gun after searching the path of the chase.

According to Tulsa Police, the electric bike wasn't reported stolen but had been clearly tampered with and appeared to have been hotwired.

Louis was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, obstructing justice, possession of drug paraphernalia, joyriding, and bicycle violation.
