A breezy and unseasonably warm day is expected in Oklahoma on Saturday, June 8, with afternoon highs expected to reach the mid-90s and high humidity expected. Despite this, a complex of thunderstorms may brush the Oklahoma and Kansas State line area late tonight into pre-dawn Sunday, potentially becoming strong or severe. A weak cold front is expected tomorrow and will bring minor relief for part of the area early next week. Thunderstorms are expected to develop off the Front Range of the Rockies and then move across western Kansas, becoming severe later this evening. However, most of these storms will remain north of the Tulsa Metro, but there is a slight probability of storms near Tulsa late tonight. A disturbance from western Utah and Wyoming is expected to move across eastern Colorado into the Central Plains this afternoon and tonight. As this wave exits the area tomorrow morning, a cold front will begin sagging southward across northern Oklahoma, bringing a few scattered showers or storms possible, but most locations will remain dry. Afternoon highs will still be close to the seasonal average but drop below average on Monday and Tuesday, returning to warmer and muggy conditions by Thursday and Friday as afternoon highs reach the lower 90s.

What will the weather be like in Oklahoma on Saturday, June 8?
A breezy and unseasonably warm day is expected with afternoon highs into the mid-90s.
Southwest winds at 15 to 25 mph will be likely with partly cloudy conditions. Heat index values will be climbing from 100 to near 105 by this afternoon. A slight chance of an isolated shower or storm will be possible, but not very likely for most locations today. However, a complex of thunderstorms may brush the Oklahoma and Kansas State line area late tonight into pre-dawn Sunday. Most of these storms will remain north of the Tulsa Metro, but there will be a slight probability of storms near Tulsa late this evening. Any storms that do develop late tonight through pre-dawn Sunday have the potential to become strong or severe. The higher threat for this type of weather remains a long and slightly north of the Oklahoma and Kansas State line region.
A weak cold front will arrive tomorrow and bring some minor relief for part of the area early next week.
What are the storm chances this weekend?
A disturbance across western Utah and Wyoming will move across eastern Colorado into the Central Plains this afternoon and tonight. Thunderstorms are likely to develop off the Front Range of the Rockies and then move across western Kansas, becoming severe later this evening. Most of these storms are expected to remain slightly north of the Oklahoma and Kansas State line region, but a few thunderstorms will be possible later tonight and pre-dawn tomorrow in this general area. The threat of a few strong to severe storms will continue, but mostly across far northern Oklahoma and southern Kansas later tonight through the early Sunday morning hours.
What will the weather be like in Oklahoma on Sunday, June 9?
As this wave exits the area tomorrow morning, a cold front will begin sagging slowly southward across northern Oklahoma. A few scattered showers or storms will be possible Sunday near the vicinity of this boundary, but most locations will remain dry. This front should also bring some minor relief in temperature and humidity, especially across the far northern areas for late Sunday afternoon. Locations to the south of I-40 will continue to experience a very muggy day before drier air arrives Sunday evening. As the front moves into southern Oklahoma late Sunday night, a few scattered showers and storms will be a possibility along and south of the I-40 corridor. The upper air flow will bring another disturbance near the region early next week, resulting in at least some mentions for scattered showers or storms. Higher probabilities initially will remain southwest of our immediate area Monday, but we’ll include some increasing probabilities for part of Tuesday and early Wednesday morning. By the middle to the end of next week, the subtropical ridge begins nudging northward and should keep storm chances away from our region.
After today's breezy and muggy weather, some minor relief arrives Sunday and early next week. Afternoon highs tomorrow may still be close to the seasonal average but will drop below average Monday and Tuesday with morning lows in the lower 60s and daytime highs mostly in the lower 80s. We’ll return to warmer and muggy conditions by Thursday and Friday as afternoon highs reach the lower 90s.
