Despite her passing in 2023, the Ruth Nelson Family Foundation (RNFF) is dedicating all of Nelson's assets, valued at approximately $350 million, to charitable causes in the Tulsa area by 2038. This is a unique strategy that aligns with Nelson's final wish. RNFF has directed $160 million in grants to over 200 nonprofits between 1995 and 2023. The foundation prioritizes supporting youth development and women's health, particularly focusing on helping 5,500 families achieve economic mobility. To address an affordable housing crisis in the city, RNFF is working to build nearly 13,000 housing units over the next decade.
