Tulsa City Council District 1: Vanessa Hall-Harper seeks 6th term against Corinice Wilson
The Tulsa City Council District 1 election on Nov. 3, 2026, pits incumbent Vanessa Hall-Harper against challenger Corinice Wilson. Vanessa Hall-Harper is seeking a sixth term in North Tulsa's District 1, the only Tulsa City Council race to require a runoff election due to a large field of challengers. While Hall-harper led the initial five-candidate field with 45.8 percent support in August, her runoff opponent, Corinice Wilson, was the only other candidate to gain significant support with 33.7 percent. Wilson, a long-time Tulsa educator and current sociology professor at Tulsa Community College, credits her extensive schooling and professional education experience for her ability to represent District 1. The election will be held on Nov. 3. Hall-Hper, who is married to Tulsa Police Department Lt. Marcus Harper, has consistently supported efforts to create an oversight body monitoring police and other public safety departments.
