Improving our city: Get caught up on development plans around Tulsa
Kevin Canfield is reporting about what's so far been known as Project Nexus, spearheaded by Williams, as well as plans for a historic building, expanding the PAC and more projects. Investor, Lafayette Square, has hinted at significant development plans for Tulsa, including a $700 million mixed-use arts and entertainment district anchored by a stadium for FC Tulsa. The city's mayor, Monroe Nichols, praised Lafayette Square's commitment to investing in communities that improve lives of ordinary people. The Tulsa Performing Arts Center will need bridge loans for some planned improvements after the city informed the organization it will no longer advance fund projects paid with private donations. The private equity firm plans to add a full-service restaurant and outdoor patio on the ground floor, restore frontage and exterior lighting, and return the lobby to its original 1963 design. FC Tulsa is exploring options for a multi-purpose stadium.
