Tulsa Family Finds Connection Through Volunteering - TulsaKids Magazine
Meet a Tulsa family making volunteering a tradition through Food On The Move, and discover how serving together helps kids build empathy and connections. Tulsa mom Gretchen Sterba and her three children, Colter Price, Ophelia Price, 13; and Juniper Price, 9, have found a way to meet people they might not otherwise encounter, learn about their community and put their values into practice. The family has regularly volunteered with Food On The Move, helping distribute fresh produce, set up community events and spend time with families attending the organization's Community Food & Resource Festivals. The volunteer experience also included helping Afghan families resettling in Tulsa. Each child enjoys participating in activities and helping with transportation, furniture and job searches.
