Tulsa Teen Helps Launch Redwinter Bakery With His Dad - TulsaKids Magazine

Meet William Pickard, a Tulsa teen who helped his dad launch Redwinter Bakery, a family business specializing in whole wheat sourdough bread. Fifteen-year-old Tulsa teenager, William Pickard, helped establish Redwinter Bakery with his father, Nathan Pickard. The business is producing whole wheat sourdough bread made with locally grown, organic Red Winter wheat. William, who helps his father bake the loaves, has also learned programming basics and has been in charge of all marketing and sales. Redwinter operates from The Joinery, the Pickards’ sustainably built property in The Heights. The original building and kitchen now houses the bakery’s commercial oven, which can bake up to 12 loaves at a time. With William in school and Nathan working full time, there are no immediate plans for expansion of the business.
