TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa International Airport (TUL) said TSA is experiencing longer than normal wait times due to equipment issues.

TUL recommends arriving at least two hours before your scheduled flight departure.

The airport posted a statement on the wait times:

"TSA is experiencing longer than normal wait times. We recommend arriving at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled departure to ensure a smooth travel experience. Thank you for your understanding!"

FOX23 spoke with TSA who said they had a couple x-ray machines that went down, which caused the delays.

They also said they were already experiencing delays due to the increased volume of travelers in the summer, which added to the wait times.

Until the machines are repaired, TSA will do manual checks for travelers.

TSA could not provide an estimated repair time, but FOX23 will provide more updates as they become available.
